Novotel Sheffield Launches "TV Dining" Concept

An innovation from the AA’s “Hotel Group of the Year 2005-2006”

SHEFFIELD, UK, February 14, 2006. Novotel launches its first “TV Dining” experience at the newly refurbished ‘New Generation’ Novotel Sheffield. Aimed at lone business and leisure travellers, this unique concept allows guests to ‘plug-in’ to their personal TV screen whilst enjoying dinner or a drink on their own in the restaurant or lobby of Novotel Sheffield.

Similar in style to airplane TV sets, this complimentary service offers terrestrial TV via comfortable headphones and high quality screens. TV Dining will encourage guests to feel at ease whilst dining on their own in the hotel’s new Elements Restaurant or relaxing with a drink in the Lobby.

“The Elements food and drink concept which we are introducing in Novotel hotels is all part of the change that’s producing a ‘New Generation’ of Novotels. Offering guests choice is the key to Elements – choice not only where, when and how much they want to eat, but also in the kind of dining experience they can enjoy. TV Dining is part of that choice. We know that guests travelling alone frequently avoid restaurants because they stand out from other diners. With TV Dining they have an experience that’s designed for them with in-built entertainment that doesn’t intrude on other guests. We’re very pleased with initial feed-back which has been very positive.” Roger Smith, Director of Marketing and Distribution, Accor Hotels UK.

Novotel Sheffield is one of the first Novotel Hotels to be refurbished in the ‘New Generation’ concept of refined style, modern design and spacious ‘Novation’ bedrooms. The stylish, clutter free lobby and reception desk reflects the modern, professional and informal service at Novotel. Internet and PlayStation facilities are available in the lobby whilst more energetic guests can make use of the swimming pool and gym. The upgraded facilities are complemented by the award-winning customer service programme ‘Service ExtraordinaireTM’.

With its own car park, the hotel’s facilities include 144 guestrooms and four suites, Elements Restaurant and Bar and seven meeting rooms backed by the brand’s Rendezvous@Novotel 8 point service promise. Novotel Sheffield is at the heart of the Sheffield City Regeneration Project and is also indicative of Novotel’s worldwide vision - transforming all hotels to New Generation standards. Reservations can be made by calling 0870 609 0962 or visiting novotel.com
