Radisson Edwardian to Open at New Providence Wharf

September 10, 2007

LONDON, UK, September 5, 2007. Radisson Edwardian Hotels (REH) will open a new four-star deluxe, 169-bedroom hotel at its award winning 'New Providence Wharf' development in London's Docklands. The new hotel will be its 12th in London, and the 13th in the UK portfolio.

The Radisson Edwardian New Providence Wharf, 5 Fairmont Avenue, which will be operated by Radisson Edwardian Hotels under a long-term management contract, is scheduled to open on September 10, 2007 and will fulfill the increasing demand for luxury accommodations in the Canary Wharf area.

"The hotel is ideally located close to Canary Wharf, London City Airport and Excel. It is near Greenwich Park, the venue for some of the events for the London 2012 Olympic Games. Also nearby is the O2 Dome, a huge arena for staging concerts, sporting events, cinemas and exhibitions," says Paul Duggan, General Manager, Radisson Edwardian New Providence Wharf.

Located in an eight-story building, the hotel is connected via a double height glass atrium to the base of the development's iconic 27-story Ontario Tower. Designed by Skidmore Owings & Merrill (SOM), the hotel will have a curved glass, stainless steel and terracotta façade to complement the development's existing buildings. A contemporary interior has been designed by Aukett.

Facilities include The East River Spa (extensive gym & six treatment rooms) and Azura Bar & Restaurant (river view restaurant with riverside terrace and a cocktail bar). There is a full range of business facilities, including conference, meeting and banqueting rooms, catering for up to 200 guests. All meeting rooms have natural daylight & state of the art AV facilities.

The hotel forms a significant component of New Providence Wharf, Ballymore's mixed-use scheme, which already includes over 700 residential apartments, with an ancillary health and leisure suite. An additional 300 units will follow in future phases, also with shops and offices. The development's exceptional architecture is complemented by impressive landscaped grounds, which include planted areas, riverside walkways and large-scale water features.

Radisson Edwardian Hotels is a collection of 13 deluxe hotels located in central London, Heathrow and Manchester.
