GM Appointed for Frenchman’s Reef Marriott

MARCH 19, 2008. José Gonzalez Espinosa has been named general manager of Frenchman’s Reef & Morning Star Marriott Beach Resort on St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands. In this position, José will be responsible for leading all areas of the operation including guest and employee satisfaction, financial performance, sales and revenue generation and owner relations.

“José’s extensive hospitality experience, coupled with his knowledge and success in the operations field, puts him in the ideal position to join Frenchman’s Reef and Morning Star Marriott Beach Resort at this exciting time,” said Dominic Sherry, regional vice president, Marriott International. “With the completion of the $25 million renovation project this summer, the resort is looking better than ever and José will help ensure we continue to be recognized as a leader in the hotel industry.”

Prior to joining the Frenchman’s team, José served as general manager at Marriott and Renaissance properties in Costa do Sauípe, Brazil, Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic and Puebla, Mexico.

He also held management and director positions at InterContinental properties in San José, Costa Rica; Rio De Janeiro, Brazil; Caracas Venezuela and Berlin, Germany.
