McKibbon Opens SpringHill Suites by Marriott

RICHMOND, VA, Mach 19, 2008. Tampa-based McKibbon Hotel Management, Inc. expands operations northward this week with the opening of the SpringHill Suites by Marriott Richmond Northwest.

Located at Exit 180B off of Interstate 64 and Gaskins Road at 9960 Independence Park Drive, the SpringHill Suites by Marriott has 103 spacious king and double bed suites. Designed for travelers in the upper moderate segment, SpringHill Suites provides travelers with additional space and comforts to enhance their experience. Hotel suites are 25% larger than traditional rooms, with separate areas for living, working and sleeping; kitchenettes with mini-refrigerator, microwave and coffee service; and 37” flat panel HDTVs and complimentary high-speed wireless internet access. The hotel features a “Suite Seasons” complimentary hot breakfast buffet, a fitness center, indoor pool and whirlpool, and valet and guest laundry services.

“Richmond is the northernmost property in our portfolio, and we look forward to establishing new relationships and serving this community,” explained CEO John McKibbon. “The region’s central location in the heart of the Eastern Seaboard, combined with its rich history and culture, makes this an attractive destination for business and leisure travelers alike.”

The property is managed by General Manager Jonathan Brashier, an award-winning manager who previously managed other McKibbon properties, the Residence Inn by Marriott in Greenville, South Carolina and the Residence Inn by Marriott in Macon, Georgia. Virginia Tech alum Laura Niarhos joins the management team as assistant general manager, and Richmond native Chrissy Bohus will serve as the property’s sales manager.

The opening celebration will begin at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, March 21, 2008. For more information about the SpringHill Suites by Marriott Richmond Northwest, visit www.springhillsuitesrichmond.com or call (804) 217-7075.
