Lexington Debuts Worldwide Directory

MARCH 24, 2008. One year after launching the brand, The Lexington Collection of fine hotels, plaza hotels, and resorts worldwide will introduce the brand’s first worldwide lodging directory to the public this week.

The full-color directory, reflecting the unique and upscale niche of the Lexington brand, features property photos, descriptions, and maps, and will be available in rooms and at front desks of Lexington properties around the globe.

According to Steve Belmonte, CEO, President and Partner of The Lexington Collection, “it’s almost unheard of in the lodging industry for a brand to grow this fast and to expand internationally during its first year. We have so many wonderful properties with individual market niches that guests wanted a directory so they could plan their next leisure trip or business-meeting venue.”

“Our brand is not a typical cookie-cutter chain where all our properties are alike. Each Lexington property has its own personality with special guest services such as spa menus, recreational activities, and organic amenities, just to name a few. A directory was needed to highlight the abundance of offerings and services that make each property unique.”

“Our hotel, known as the 'crown-jewel of the Midwest,' is set apart from other hotels in the region with our antique furnishings, award-winning culinary masterpieces, and historical memorabilia. Our guests hope to re-create their experience with us elsewhere," said Michael Ellis, owner of the Lexington Cliffbreakers Riverside Resort in Rockford, Illinois. "For this reason, the directory is much-anticipated by our guests so they may learn more about all the other one-of-a-kind Lexington properties."

With properties in its system being added at record speed, The Lexington Collection offers a new level of lodging experience for consumers with individual properties that feature: a four-star hotel located in one of the largest shopping complexes in China; an indoor water park; a championship 18-hole golf course designed by legendary golfer Vijay Singh; an all-organic hotel; a resort with an art school and healthy lifestyle program; and much more.

As an hotelier, you cannot stand by your front door greeting all the guests that make their way onto your property, but you can choreograph initial experiences by transforming your lobby into an oasis...

Effectively Understanding the Role of the Hotel Concierge

By Leigh Anne Dolecki, Chef Concierge, Campton Place Hotel

The word concierge actually dates back to mid 17th century Europe, when hosts, usually of a lavish property or castle, provided a servant whose primary responsibility was attending to the comfort of their traveling guests. This servant eventually catered to the every whim and wish of visiting nobles; they held a very important position in the household, and often kept the household keys...
