Miami Ramada Converts to Indigo Brand

MARCH 24, 2008. Driftwood Hospitality Management recognizes the growing significance of South Florida in the commercial real estate market. Having recently opened a Holiday Inn Express in West Kendall, Driftwood continues to solidify its commitment to the area by announcing a new renovation project in Dadeland.

“With the growing popularity of South Florida as both a leisure and business hub, we look to provide travelers with the best in quality, service and comfort through a warm and inviting atmosphere that makes them feel at home,” said Carlos Rodriguez, Driftwood’s Executive Vice President.

Currently a Ramada Limited, the hotel property located at the heart of the Dadeland business center is being completely renovated and set to be reflagged as a Hotel Indigo upon completion in May 2008. Hotel Indigo is the newest boutique hotel concept by InterContinental Hotels Group and is designed to appeal to the style-savvy guest in search of affordable luxury complete with business amenities.

The interior décor will be reworked in accordance with the modern and colorful design associated with the Indigo brand; this includes guestrooms, bathrooms, hallways, lighting concepts and more. The hotel will even bear the trademark Indigo lobby mural and signature scents, both of which take their inspiration from nature and change with the seasons. Projected to cost $3.75 million, the renovation also provides for the addition of a restaurant and bar featuring full service Starbucks®, meeting venues, a business center and a fitness center. All renovations are scheduled to be finalized in May 2008.
