Frontier Heads to Jackson Hole

DENVER, CO, Nay 15, 2008. At 8:30 a.m. MDT, Frontier Airlines launched service to its newest market, Jackson Hole, Wyoming. The nearly full flight was received in Jackson Hole at 10:10 a.m. with tremendous fanfare, as Jackson Hole entered a new era of high-quality, low-cost air travel.

Frontier's new Jackson Hole service will include three daily nonstop flights to the Denver hub. Jackson Hole is one of seven new regional markets Frontier announced in February, all of which are shorter-haul markets, better suited to leveraging the economics of the Bombardier Q400 aircraft. A fleet of 10 Q400s are operated for Frontier by Frontier Airlines Holdings, Inc.
subsidiary Lynx Aviation.

"Our new Bombardier Q400s are the absolute best aircraft for the Jackson Hole market," said Frontier President and CEO, Sean Menke. "Not only does the Q400 have superior technology when it comes to noise and vibration control, but if offers a level of luxury you won't find in most of the turboprops out there. We are looking forward to providing the Jackson Hole community with our unmatched customer service, reliability, and low-cost airfare."

"It is with pleasure that we welcome Frontier Airlines into the Jackson Hole community", said Mike Gierau, Chair, JH AIR. "The Bombardier Q400 aircraft should prove a perfect fit for our market; extremely fuel efficient and able to operate well at high elevation. The decision by Frontier to provide year-round service, with over 200 quality seats daily feeding connecting traffic through Denver is a significant commitment to Jackson."

Lynx Aviation's new fleet of Q400 aircraft is also serving four new Colorado markets with daily nonstop service from Denver:

The quiet, fuel-efficient and technologically-advanced Q400 aircraft are ideal for flying into smaller markets, and allow Frontier to bring its industry-leading customer service to underserved markets unreachable with its larger aircraft. Foodies Take Flight to Fractional Resorts

By Tom LaTour, Principal, LaTour Signature Group

Most of us eat three meals a day, 365 days a year for a total of 1,095 dining experiences. Surely some of these should be memorable, and that’s a key goal for managers at fractional interest resorts. Restaurants and food service are without a doubt the most competitive aspects of the fiercely spirited luxury resort hotel industry...

Room Service Add-ons that Make Money

By Professor Marcel R. Escoffier, School of Hospitality and Tourism Management, Florida International University, Miami, Florida.

Room Service should always be a money maker. The necessity to have 24 hour room service in order to have five stars doesn’t mean that the F+B Director can throw up his or her hands and allow it to lose money. I’ve mentioned in previous articles how to keep costs in line in this area. But I hope that you consider adopting some of the money making ideas other hotels have used to make this a profit center...
