PALM SPRINGS, CA, October 13, 2008. The legendary Riviera Resort & Spa, Palm Springs is undergoing a £35 million renovation that has taken two years and is scheduled to re-open its doors this month.

This iconic property is owned and managed by the renowned boutique hotel and resort specialists, Noble House Hotels & Resorts.

The 24-acre Riviera Resort & Spa is located in the heart of downtown Palm Springs and is one of the most significant landmarks in Palm Springs history. Once a celebrity playground to the likes of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Elvis Presley, the resort will feature 406 beautifully redesigned guest rooms and suites, acres of landscaped gardens and courtyards with fire pits, two swimming pools, two retail boutiques, a five star dining restaurant, and an award-winning Noble House signature spa, SpaTerre.

The renovated Riviera Resort and Spa will showcase itself in a contemporary fashion, paying respect to its heritage, with black and white portraits of previous celebrity clientele and oversized, dramatic French and English mid-century furniture. The newly remodelled guestrooms and suites are designed in a retro and contemporary style, with each guest room complimented by contemporary crystal chandeliers and abstract paintings of the iconic Marilyn Monroe. Rooms will include marble bathrooms, flat screen plasma TVs, wireless internet, separate work and seating areas, coffee makers, signature in-room bath amenities by SpaTerre and private patios or balconies with breathtaking courtyard, mountain, or pool views.

The SpaTerre will feature 18 treatment rooms, a state-of-the-art fitness center, full service hair and nail salon as well as a rare and expansive Watsu pool. Making SpaTerre, one of only five hotels in Southern California to offer the unique Watsu treatment.

This is just one of many hotel renovations that have recently taken place in Palm Springs of late, other renovations have recently taken place at The Colony Palms, Holiday Inn City Centre and a new spa called Elements at the Hilton Palm Springs.

In additional to these renovations the Hyatt Palm Springs will undergo extensive renovations in late 2009, and in 2010, and two new hotels are set to be built downtown, named Hard Rock Hotel and Mondorian.

Scheduled to open after the New Year, the new Ace Hotel and Swim Club features a mid-century desert aesthetic blended with fold-modern interiors. The 180-room property has two large pools and poolside bar, indoor spa salon, a stargazing platform, fresh organic menus including juices made fresh daily from the garden.
