Supranational Hotels Selects Pegasus’ RezView NG
Group Signs More than 1,200 Properties with Industry Leader for Complete Distribution
DALLAS, TX, November 11, 2008. Supranational Hotels has signed a contract with Pegasus Solutions for complete distribution, including Pegasus’ next generation central reservation system (CRS) RezView® NG, next generation booking engine NetBooker® NG, UltraSwitch platform and online distribution database (ODD). The agreement makes Supranational, which has more than 1,200 hotels and a growing number of private label customers, the first hotel group not previously using Pegasus’ RezView classic to sign on to RezView NG.
“Previously on the Wizcom CRS, which Pegasus acquired in 2007, Supranational has long set a priority on being at the forefront of new technology in electronic distribution. After an exacting review, the group opted for Pegasus based on its leading position in the market and commitment on future-planning with RezView NG”, said Niels Pedersen, managing director of Supranational Hotels.
“We started working with Pegasus for greater distribution when the company acquired Wizcom in 2007,” said Pedersen. “Over the course of the last year-and-a-half, we’ve not only developed a good relationship, but we’ve also learned about and enjoyed the benefits of their industry-leading products. From UltraSwitch, which ushered in the age of electronic distribution nearly 20 years ago, to RezView NG, the first revamp of the CRS in years, Pegasus proved up to the task of providing the right technology to keep our hotels competitive today and in the future.”
Pegasus, which is on track to upgrade 9,000 hotels to RezView NG, recognizes the Supranational win among its growing list of 2008 successes, added Tim Unwin, vice president of business development, reservation services
“The team at Supranational has high expectations for its electronic distribution provider,” said Unwin. “To count it as the first company to upgrade to RezView NG, outside of the RezView classic migrations we’ve completed to-date, is another credit to the superiority of our CRS in breaking through the challenges hotels face in today’s global market. The added functionality of our next generation booking engine, ODD and switch technology round out a sound strategy.”
One of the key benefits Supranational will realize in migrating to the Pegasus Switch is a reduction in outages. Additionally, with RezView NG, Supranational will have a one-stop shop for easy management of room and non-room item inventory, status, restrictions, pricing and policies. The product also offers dynamic packaging, universal integration with external applications and operation in multiple languages; all while processing transactions for thousands of hotels simultaneously while consistently maintaining sub-second response times.
Pegasus resources will continue to support the business requirements of Supranational members, ensuring their needs are first priority. This will also guarantee that NINA II, the name Supranational has assigned for the implementation of RezView NG, maintains the company’s uncompromising technology stance.
