Coastal Chic Waterfront Retreat: Pelican Grand Beach Resort
By Heidi Dennis General Manager, Pelican Grand Beach Resort | May 12, 2019
Over the past 33 years, I have been privileged to work in just about every hotel department imaginable – in desirable locations all over the world. Everything from my most recent experiences here in the United States in Fort Lauderdale and Coral Springs to international experiences in Vietnam and the Pacific island of Saipan, each experience helped grow my knowledge of the industry and most importantly, fueled my passion.
As many in this industry can relate, with this passion comes great respect for what individualizes a hotel and its experience. Everything from the sights and sounds to the smells, tastes and of course the reactions people have when they visit, it all adds up to a complete sensory experience leaving the guest wanting more.
Situated on a picturesque stretch of paradise in Fort Lauderdale, Fl., the feeling was almost instantaneous when my path first crossed with Pelican Grand Beach Resort. I knew this place was special. I was working just down the road at another resort and was personally planning a "staycation" at Pelican Grand. The feeling I had upon arrival, and throughout our stay, was the same feeling that drives me daily to deliver exceptional experiences in my current role as General Manager.
Going on three years at Pelican Grand Beach Resort, each day on the job promises new adventure while others deliver a sense of calm, thanks to our beachfront backyard.
Perfectly perched at 2000 North Ocean Boulevard and rising regally from the sandy shores, we've made a name for Pelican Grand as being one of the only true beachfront, boutique resorts on Fort Lauderdale beach, without roads (busy A1A) and traffic between the rooms and water.
