Microtel Opens in Colfax IA
JUNE 28, 2007. A new Microtel Inn & Suites hotel has opened at 11000 Federal Ave. in Colfax, Iowa, off Interstate 80 at exit 155. The hotel - owned and operated by Shekar Properties, LLC of Johnston, Iowa - is 10 miles from Altoona's Adventureland Amusement Park and Prairie Meadows Casino, and nearby the new Iowa Speedways Racetrack in Newton.
The newly constructed two-story hotel has 38 single, double and suite accommodations. Amenities include free local and free long distance phone calls anywhere within the continental U.S.; free high speed wireless Internet access in all guestrooms; expanded cable television with CNN, Showtime and ESPN, and complimentary daily continental breakfast. Jacuzzi suites are available.
