Hilton Sedona Names New F&B Director
JUNE 4, 2007. The Hilton Sedona Resort & Spa recently announced the appointment of their new Director of Food & Beverage, Joseph Serreyn. A 30-year food & beverage veteran, Serreyn will oversee the daily culinary aspects of the Northern-Arizona property, including the celebrated Grille at ShadowRock.
"Serreyn's wealth of experience and proven management skills will bring our food & beverage operation to the next level," explained Lynn Ericksen, General Manager. "He will be working closely with our teams in the restaurants and ballroom operations to ensure that the culinary expectations of our guests are not only met, but exceeded time and time again."
No one can say that Serreyn's background as a "foodie" doesn't have humble beginnings. His first job was at McDonald's and you can be sure that he always asked "Do you want fries with that?" His attention to detail and love for the business brought him to owning a deli. That's when he decided the hospitality industry held great appeal and began his hotelier career as a Banquet Manager at The Marquette Hotel in Minneapolis. The sky was the limit from there. He worked his way up through the food & beverage arena at such renowned properties as the Hyatt Regency Tampa, the Hyatt Orlando, Grand Hyatt Denver, The Hyatt Regency Phoenix and The Hyatt Regency Cleveland.
Serreyn's experience doesn't end there. He is proficient in all phases of hotel banquet, restaurant and off-premises catering operations. In addition, throughout his career, he has placed significant emphasis in community involvement, staff relations and providing exceptional customer service. During his hotel tenure, his properties have earned numerous accolades and awards through his leadership efforts.
