Windsor Hospitality Restores Embassy Suites Brea

. October 14, 2008

LOS ANGELES, CA, June 1, 2007. As Windsor Hospitality Group concludes their well-executed renovation campaign at the Embassy Suites Brea, this property once again revives Ancient Egypt's splendor by staying true to its original motif. It now has a host of contemporary amenities such as the property's new well- appointed business center and its top-of-the-line cardio fitness facility, combined with its elegant decoration. The property team is thrilled to welcome back previous guests or those who are curious about the buzz around the hotel's reemergence in the North Orange County market.

"The hotel has been a cultural landmark in Brea's community art project with it's own Ancient Egyptian theme incorporated into its architecture and design element," says Regina Samy, general manager of the property and WHG's regional vice president. "While the hotel did undergo a full commercial space and suite renovation, we included the Egyptian Royal Palace d'ecor most prominently in the guest suites. We stripped the hotel down to its bare bones on each floor and rebuilt it to offer the latest in both comfort and conveniences to our guests."

The other renovations included lobby enhancements, such as a marketplace for snacks and beverages. We installed two flat panel televisions in the registration area. One provides viewers a walking art tour when not used as a meeting information board. The second shows Egyptian history DVD's.

"Our BusinessLink business center is now complete with complementary HSIA workstations, printers, fax machines and laptop hubs," says Samy. "And we added a magnificent cardio fitness facility with treadmills, recumbent bikes and cross trainers, each with it's own video screen attached to local cable TV for viewing. All that guests have to do is add their ear buds for volume."

WHG started these renovations and upgrades in October with the work on the property's public spaces. They began work on the guestrooms in March and will complete them in early June. These renovations are part of a larger company effort, Samy explains. "We have renovated or will renovate the entire WHG portfolio. The Embassy Suites Brea has maintained it's unique styling, but as for consistency company-wide, we are equally as beautiful as our recently-renovated sister WHG hotels."

The feedback they have gotten thus far reinforces that. "Brea's city fathers, mothers and community leaders have been so proud of this hotel for many years and are voicing their joy that 'their hotel' is better than its original incarnation," Samy says.

This WHG property enjoys a fairly stable year-round occupancy comprised of business clientele during the week and vacationing families visiting the local attractions during the weekend. It is a favorite site for Hilton Honors points redemption stays due to its proximity to the Brea Mall, which is next door, and to other area attractions such as the beach and golf.

For this campaign, WHG engaged Plante's Hotel Renovation and Lily J. Bernabe with LJB Designs. The company has worked with both contractors on prior hotel renovation projects. WHG's budget for the renovation and upgrade work at the Embassy Suites Brea was $5.5 million.

"Throughout this campaign, the hotel team has kept our guests' comfort and convenience at the forefront of our concerns," says Samy. "We held many brainstorming sessions during the various phases to determine how to minimize the downtime of an area as well as how to communicate with our guests about the 'event' so they could make decisions about their own stay. I am personally very proud of how the team has managed this task and we, as a team, are all excited to begin serving our guests in the most beautiful hotel facility in North Orange County!"

That attitude has been a driving force to Samy, her team at the Embassy Suites Brea and to WHG as a whole in their efforts to breathe a new life into the Embassy Suites Brea, per Ancient Egyptian custom.
