. October 14, 2008

JUNE 1, 2007. Penn National Gaming, Inc. (Nasdaq:PENN) announced today that subject to regulatory approval, John Chaszar has been named General Manager of its Hollywood Casino - Bay St. Louis property, effective August 1, 2007. Mr. Chaszar, who had been serving as the Assistant General Manager at Hollywood Casino, succeeds John Jagunich, who recently announced his retirement.

With six years of gaming industry experience, and another seventeen years of hotel management experience, John Chaszar has served as Assistant General Manager of Hollywood Casino - Bay St. Louis since September 2006. He first started at the facility as the Director of Resort Operations in December 2001. Prior to joining Hollywood Casino, Mr. Chaszar was General Manager of the Brown Palace Hotel in Denver, Colorado.

Leonard M. DeAngelo, Executive Vice President, Operations of Penn National Gaming commented, "Having worked at Hollywood Casino for six years, John understands the property, the Gulf Coast market and our customers and is ideally qualified to assume the position of GM at Hollywood Casino - Bay St. Louis. John played an important role in the successful re-opening of Hollywood Casino following the damage incurred as a result of Hurricane Katrina, and his appointment again demonstrates Penn National's strategy of both attracting and promoting proven gaming industry veterans to manage its regional gaming properties. We thank John Jagunich for the valuable role he has played at Hollywood Casino from his leadership during the Katrina aftermath, to assisting in the re-opening of the facility in August of 2006 to his service as General Manager for the last six years. We wish him all the best on his retirement."
