First Major Bar & Lounge to Reopen in New Orleans

. October 14, 2008

NEW ORLEANS, LA, September 15, 2005. Whiskey Blue at the W New Orleans, 333 Poydras, will have a Grand Re-Opening at 7:00 p.m. tonight (Thursday, Sept. 15), becoming the first major bar and lounge in New Orleans to re-open since Katrina.

Whiskey Blue originally opened in New Orleans in May 2000 and is one of the hottest bars in town with its trademark specialty drinks and sexy, sleek atmosphere.

To celebrate the re-opening, Whiskey Blue has created a special new drink, the New Orleans Hope Martini, "tart and spunky like the spirit of New Orleans."

Marcus Reinders, General Manager of the W New Orleans, and Hope Kitisin, General Manager of Whiskey Blue, will be available for interviews. The bar, which normally has 35 employees, will have a cast of five tonight -- all long-time New Orleaneans. General Manager Hope Kitisin will be doing double-duty as waitress tonight with manager William Young working as bartender/back bar; King Logan, back bar; Natasha Sigrest, bartender; and Jennifer Childress, bartender.
