BOSTON, MA, March 10, 2008. The Copley Square Hotel, www.copleysquarehotel.com, located in the heart of vibrant Back Bay near Fenway Park and Hynes Convention Center, recently welcomed two industry professionals to key management posts, announced the hotel's operator Interstate Hotels & Resorts. John W. Maibach has been named General Manager, with Kimberly Altschuler joining the staff as Director of Sales and Marketing.

The Copley Square Hotel closed on January 14, 2008, to undergo an extensive $14 million renovation which will include physical upgrades to the interior of the building as well the introduction of a high-touch guest service philosophy, "Intuitively Yours." When complete, the Copley Square Hotel will reemerge as a contemporary, four-star boutique hotel with stylish interiors and distinctive amenities for today's business and leisure travelers. The Grand Reopening is scheduled for June 2008.

"This new management team will be integral to our success in repositioning the property as an upscale contemporary boutique hotel for a more discerning clientele," said Dawn Gallagher, Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Interstate Hotels and Resorts. "Their mandate is to revitalize the guest experience and effectively communicate the hotel's distinct advantages as we reintroduce this jewel of the Back Bay to Boston residents as well as visitors to the city."

Maibach, an industry veteran who offers more than 15 years of experience in hospitality management and operations, was most recently General Manager for the Black Point Inn, an historic coastal property in Prout's Neck, Maine. Prior to this position, he served as Director of Operations for The Fairmont Copley Plaza in Boston and as Executive Director, Rooms for The Plaza in New York City.

Altschuler was most recently Director of Revenue Management and Transient Sales at The Charles Hotel in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
