New Culinary Dream Team on Rocky Mountaineer Train

. October 14, 2008

VANCOUVER, BC, Canada, April 15, 2008. The culinary experience onboard the Rocky Mountaineer train has always been exemplary, but now Rocky Mountaineer Vacation's (RMV) is kicking it up a notch with four times the talent, experience and expertise. This year, the company welcomes aboard a new gourmet dream team, Rocky Mountain Catering, which was recently established by four world-renowned BC Chefs; Frederic Couton, Joseph Lassaga, Jean Pierre Guerin and Raoul Prigent. Rocky Mountain Catering is working alongside RMV Executive Chef, Operations, Steve Buzak to create bi-regional dishes that celebrate the distinctive character of Western Canada in the true tradition of Rocky Mountaineer Vacations.

"As we prepare to welcome our one millionth guest this season, we are positioning ourselves for future growth and enhanced service," says Mark Southern, Vice President, Guest Services of Rocky Mountaineer Vacations. "The change of caterers does not mean a major menu makeover, but rather a fresh approach to our onboard cuisine in both GoldLeaf and RedLeaf Service."

Rocky Mountain Catering's highly accomplished Chefs have created spectacular cuisine in kitchens from around the world including Hong Kong, Paris and Geneva. All four have received a number of international culinary awards and accolades. In addition, Chef Frederic Couton published a cookbook masterpiece in 2006 outlining his outstanding creations as Executive Chef of the Cannery Seafood House in Vancouver, BC.

Rich history, culinary delights and exemplary guest service await on Rocky Mountaineer's two day all-daylight journey, taking guests through the magnificent scenery of British Columbia and the Rocky Mountain destinations of Jasper, Banff or Calgary, Alberta. Imagine a romantic setting with intimate dining rooms, crisp white linens, gleaming silverware and unobstructed views of the spectacular passing landscape - all of this is found exclusively in GoldLeaf Service. Revitalized by our new culinary dream team, the innovative `a la carte menus offer tantalizing bi-regional cuisine for breakfast and lunch complemented with award winning wines from British Columbia's Okanagan Valley.
