SAN FRANCISCO. CA, April 23, 2008. John Glen DiGuiseppe, President and CEO of Investors Hospitality Management, operator of Nob Hill Hotel and The Fitzgerald Hotel, is pleased to announce the selection of Bertrand H. Newson as General Manager for these two boutique properties in San Francisco.

A seasoned hotelier with 20 years experience in the hospitality industry, Newson appreciates the freedom to engage his entrepreneurial spirit, versatility and creativity. From the outset, Newson primed his team with empowerment, capturing the history of two 100+ year old properties exuding the charm of San Francisco's boutique niche market. For Newson, each hotel's signature complements what he views as a "plethora of culture, colorful neighborhoods, sophistication, incredible options for eating well," ultimately creating an attitude of refreshment for a traveler.

Unlike branded larger hotels, the boutique properties of San Francisco offer immediacy of singular service, distinctive configurement and amenities in accommodations, intimacy and overall charm. The competitive advantage of The Fitzgerald Hotel and Nob Hill Hotel, in Newsom's view, is the way in which his team's personalities become "part of the traveler's stay experience."

Newson's previous work combined experience in limited service boutique and full servicehotels. Most recently engaged as a consultant for Summit Hospitality, Newson applied thepractice of revenue management, competitive hotel market analysis, cost analysis, budget preparation and project management to his client's specifications. Prior to that engagement,Newson was General Manager for the Hilton Garden Inn, San Leandro, CA and York Hotel &Plush Room Lounge in San Francisco. Newson's hands-on operational expertise grew fromprevious engagement asDirector of Rooms for the 475 room/hotel/convention center, MarriottCity Center, Oakland CA and Director of Front Office for the 1008 room, Four DiamondRenaissance Parc 55 Hotel, San Francisco, CA.

Resident of San Francisco, Newson maintains a strong organizational history with membership representation in varied civic and professional institutions including: Booker T. Washington Community Center, San Francisco Hotel Council, Society of Government Meeting Planners, San Francisco Chapter, San Leandro Chamber. "It's crucial to get directly involved in the local community and industry-related organizations. Too many companies are focused on only running their businesses and lose sight of becoming an integral part of the community. San Francisco is so rich and diverse with culture and plenty of ways to get involved, give back and showcase your business" comments the GM.

"Travelers come to San Francisco because the City has so much to offer, making their experiences very personal and unique. The Nob Hill and Fitzgerald offer much the same as no two rooms in either hotel are alike. The Victorian d'ecor and charming character of the 100 year-old hotels create memories of a lifetime," notes Newson.

Newson's professional career in hospitality has also been characterized by guest speaking engagements and participation in notable training programs such as San Francisco City College's Hotel & Restaurant Sector and varied corporate chain certification programs. The depth and breadth of all that history now come to play near Union Square as Newson's agility managing two channels of operation. "Our goal is to be the first choice for travelers who prefer an intimate lodging experience that complements their visit to our beautiful city," states Newson.
