Denihan Promotes Ellen Brown to EVP Acquisitions & Development

NEW YORK, NY, April 29, 2008. Ellen Brown has been promoted to Executive Vice President, Acquisitions & Development of Denihan Hospitality Group (DHG), the New York-based hospitality and property management company whose holdings include the Affinia, Benjamin and James hotel brands. In her new position, Brown will be responsible for crafting and executing an ambitious growth strategy focused on developing opportunities in New York, Boston, Miami, Washington, D.C. and other top U.S. markets. The appointment was made by Brooke Barrett and Patrick Denihan, co-CEOs, and is effective immediately.

Brown was most recently Director, Acquisitions & Development, responsible for development, acquisition, management contracts and retail leasing. In this position, she was instrumental in helping the company gain strategic footholds outside of New York. She led the acquisition efforts for the Affinia Chicago and The James and played a significant role in securing the company's recent management contract with The Liaison Capitol Hill, an Affinia Hotel in Washington, D.C.

Prior to joining DHG, Ellen was a manager in Coopers & Lybrand's National Hospitality Practice, where she oversaw the daily management of the NYC Group and directed major hotel portfolio acquisitions totaling more than $3 billion. She has also served as an assistant vice president of Landauer Real Estate Counselor's Hospitality Practice, and as senior consultant in Laventhol & Horwarth's Hospitality Management Advisory Services Group.

Ellen is a founding member and serves on the board of the Women's Hotel Investment Network (WHIN). She has been a featured speaker at numerous industry conferences, such as the annual Hotel Investment & Finance Summit. She is also a board member of the Real Estate Finance and Investments Career Track Advisory Board for Cornell University's School of Hotel Administration, where she received her degree.
