Crowne Plaza Williamsburg Introduces Summer Specials

. October 14, 2008

MAY 22, 2008. Crowne Plaza Williamsburg at Fort Magruder, a popular choice in Colonial Williamsburg hotels, is stepping up to the fast approaching summer season with packages that focus on fun but also respond to the current travel market.

As gas prices in Virginia approach $4.00/gallon, a milestone expected to be reached before summer's end, the Crowne Plaza is combating the leisure/transient market's cost concerns with an aggressive fuel credit package. This 'Gas and Go Package' offers guests a $25.00 gas card per night of stay along with the overnight accommodations and additional benefits.

Because Crowne Plaza Williamsburg at Fort Magruder is centrally-located and Williamsburg is generally a tight-knit destination where most of the premier attractions are very close together, this package is expected to be especially attractive to the 'drive market', that portion of guests located anywhere from 50 to 300 miles away who are most likely to drive to the property rather than fly. The freedom of fly-in guests to use their rental car without fear of racking up a gas bill will provide additional encouragement.

The Williamsburg, Virginia hotel is also introducing a 'Busch Gardens Family Package' offering discounted room rates and tickets to the popular theme park. Although not traditionally related to Colonial Williamsburg, the Europe-inspired park is nevertheless a staple attraction for the area and the hotel.
