Solare's Mid Scale Brand, Chisun Grand, Reaches Five Properties

. October 14, 2008

TOKYO, Japan, July 8, 2008. Solare Hotels & Resorts Co. Ltd. is scheduled to open Chisun Grand Nagasaki in Gotomachi, Nagasaki City on July 8th, and Chisun Grand Hakodate in Horaimachi, Hakodate City on July 14th. Solare currently operates three Chisun Grand hotels in Sapporo (Hokkaido), Sasebo City (Kyushu) and Akasaka (Tokyo). The upcoming opening of these further two properties will bring the total number of Chisun-branded hotels to five.

Chisun Grand Nagasaki is a newly built property conveniently situated a mere six-minute walk from JR Nagasaki Station, in front of the Gotomachi tram stop on one of the city's historical tram lines. Offering easy access to the CBD, as well as to major tourist attractions such as Nagasaki Peace Park, which commemorates the atomic bomb blast of 1945, and Glover Garden, which showcases western-style homes from the Meiji era, the hotel is well-positioned to appeal to both business and leisure travelers.

Chisun Grand Hakodate is located at the foot of Mt. Hakodate, a popular Japanese tourist destination renowned for its picturesque night views. Situated only 30 minutes from Hakodate airport by shuttle bus and within easy walking distance of tram services to the heart of the CBD, this hotel is also ideally located to attract both business and leisure travelers.

Solare Hotels & Resorts CEO A.G. Virili states: "Our Chisun Grands are a runaway success, clearly outperforming their competitive set wherever they open. Simply put, Chisun Grands are to their competition what an aircraft's J-Class seats are to economy class. Not only are many economy lodging clients fed up with inferior and unimaginative business hotels and therefore upgrading to us for a modest premium, given the current economic uncertainties and increased travel costs, many corporate and leisure guests are choosing to scale back from their normal choice of a full scale hotel, to our stylish but very competitively priced mid scale Chisun Grands."

The brand is uniquely distinguished from standard business hotels by its high-quality facilities and services steeped in the charms of each local region. Rooms on the executive level, the 'Grand Floor,' are fitted with iPod cradles, upgraded furniture and amenities, and offer added convenience and comfort to our most discerning guests.

As of June 2008, Solare Hotels & Resorts Co. Ltd. and its 5,500 associates operate, franchise and asset-manage 60 hotels and some 11,300 rooms throughout Japan, including Chisun brand hotels, the Okinawa Marriott Resort & Spa, Holiday Inn Kyoto, Mercure Hotel Narita, and the Kobe Bay Sheraton Hotel & Towers.

Solare Hotels & Resorts launched their new full-service, upscale brand, "Loisir Hotels," in the spring of 2008 and now have 8 Loisir properties in operation throughout Japan. In addition, Solare has announced numerous hotels committed or under construction which are due to open in 2008-2009.
