BARCELONA, Spain, Ocotober 24, 2005. The Hesperia Tower, Barcelona, will open on January 16, 2006 and become the flagship property of the Hesperia Group. Designed by Richard Rogers Partnership (Pompidou Centre, Millennium Dome) and costing EUR74 million (approx. lb50.3 million), the 105 metre-tall hotel tower is already topped with the spectacular glass dome, which will house the restaurant of five Michelin stared chef Santi Santamaria.
On completion, the hotel will offer 280 luxury rooms (including 12 duplex suites and a Presidential Suite), a 5000m Congress and Convention Centre and an exclusive Metropolitan Club sports centre and urban spa.
The Hesperia Group has 48 hotels: 42 in Spain, two in Brussels (Belgium), one in London, one in Andorra and two in Isla Margarita (Venezuela). In addition, it plans to open three more city-centre hotels in Spain within the next year. The Hesperia Group announced an annual turnover of 171 million Euros in 2004 and is aiming for figures to reach 200 million Euros in 2005.

Accommodations
The 105m high tower will contain 280 rooms over 27 floors, including one Presidential Suite and 12 duplex suites with Jacuzzis. There will also be eight junior suites, 14 business suites, 7 Executive Suites, 42 rooms in the Tower Club, 84 superior rooms and 112 deluxe rooms. Guest accommodation is to include free wireless internet connection, two other types of high speed internet connection, a flat screen TV and pillow menu.
Dining
The Hesperia Tower's unique design incorporates a rooftop glass dome, which is to house the panoramic EVO restaurant, headed by Michelin starred chef Santi Santamaria. Restaurant diners will enjoy the spectacular and unrivalled views over Barcelona that the restaurant's position is set to offer.
The hotel will also accommodate the Bouquet Restaurant, which will offer enological cuisine. Specialising and focusing on wine, the restaurant's ethos will be to provide an extensive wine list and offer recommendations on which wine best accompanies each dish. A Charming and trendy bar will be suspended on a platform over the Bouquet Restaurant, and it will be open Monday to Saturday, from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m.
Completing the repertoire of dining possibilities will be the AXIS Bar and Caf'e in the lobby for informal meetings, light snacks and refreshments. The new meeting point for your business.
Congress & Convention Centre
The 5000m^2 centre will house an auditorium for 500 people, a 1614m^2 room which can cater for up to 1600 people (or 1300 banquet style), 21 meeting rooms for 20 to 2000 people, the latest a/v equipment, business centre, reception and breakout rooms, VIP area, complimentary wireless internet connection and parking facilities. Metropolitan Centre
