EAST BOSTON, MA, February 17, 2009 - Tom Varley, VP of Operations, Ocean Properties, Ltd. of Portsmouth, NH and Delray Beach, FL, one of the largest Marriott franchise owners in America, Janice Neavitt, VP, Marriott Hotels, Market Director of Sales, New England Sales Office and Stephen Nalen, General Manager, Courtyard Boston Logan joined The Honorable Thomas Menino, Mayor of Boston today to cut the ribbon on the Courtyard Boston Logan Airport at 225 William F. McClellan Highway in East Boston

The ceremony marked the completion of Ocean Properties' $15 million renovation and upgrade of the former Holiday Inn.

The completely transformed 356-room Courtyard Boston Logan is particularly noteworthy for Ocean Properties' commitmend to "green" practices including the purchase of 2 natural gas busses for guest transportation, light sensors and property-wide recycling/waste management, guestroom: compact fluorescent bulbs, digital thermostatic controls and water-flow reduction devices.

"I congratulate the entire team here on all your work to transform the Courtyard. Even as travelers are taking more vacations closer to home this hotel should do very well," said Mayor Menino.

"The Courtyard Boston Logan Airport hotel represents some of the very best thinking in the industry today," said Ocean Properties Ltd., VP Tom Varley in announcing the completion of the renovation. "It is a dynamic hotel, large enough to provide the comforts and conveniences of a full service hotel, while remaining focused on the selective needs of the seasoned travelers who have made Courtyard the outstanding brand in this category. This hotel reflects the knowledge, experience and pride of the entire Ocean Properties organization."

Going a step beyond the new Courtyard concept, in addition to the lobby GoBoardTM (an interactive touchscreen display for time, weather, local headlines and events, sports, and restaurant recommendations) and Starbucks kiosk in the lobby, this Courtyard includes the full-service Bistro restaurant and lounge, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. Due to its proximity to Logan Airport -- the closest Marriott to the airport -- this Courtyard offers airline crews their own relaxation lounge, devoted exclusively to airline crews.
