Thailand's First Holistic Spa And Sanctuary

. October 14, 2008

THAILAND, October 24, 2005. A unique concept in personal wellbeing, relaxation and inner health will open its doors to British travellers next month. Due for completion in mid-November, the Kamalaya Holistic Spa and Sanctuary will further reinforce Thailand's and Koh Samui's reputation as world leading destinations for spa and wellness holidays.

Centred on a cave temple that once served Buddhist monks as a place of meditative retreat, Kamalaya has been designed as the ultimate holistic spa and sanctuary. Consisting of just 60 villas, bungalows and 'Hillside' rooms, and situated on 10 acres of south-facing beachfront property, Kamalaya promises expansive views of sky, sea and outlying islands.

General Manager Neil Martin said Kamalaya would take spa resorts to an entirely new level, offering a comprehensive range of Western and Oriental treatments and therapies, as well as an inspiring natural environment. "Kamalaya will unfold as a sanctuary of inspiring beauty and tranquillity in which to discover life's full potential."

Kamalaya's world-class facilities revolve around a Holistic Wellness Centre, where consultation and treatment rooms are integrated into a natural environment of rocks, trees and streams. Its villas, bungalows and 'Hillside' accommodation have been carefully designed to also make the most of the surrounding landscape, while their peaceful interiors combine natural materials, Asian textiles, and carefully selected art and antiques.

Throughout the year, world-renowned teachers in the fields of integrative medicine, yoga and the arts will feature in a series of conferences, seminars and special events, which will be held in Kamalaya's Yantra Hall Conference Centre. For most visitors however, interest will centre on the Holistic Wellness Centre, where experienced practitioners in western medicine, traditional Thai and Chinese medicine, naturopathy, and Ayruveda, as well as in the fields of Yoga, gi gong and related disciplines will offer a wide variety of health treatments, consultations, classes and seminars.

In fact, every guest is offered an initial health and lifestyle consultation, as well as a pre-departure follow-up session. During their stay, guests can enjoy complimentary use of the steam rooms, swimming and plunge pools, as well as participate in Yoga, meditation, tai chi, gi gong and other exercise classes.

Importantly, Kamalaya's room rates also include breakfast, lunch, dinner or individualised detox and rejuvenation meal plans at the Soma Restaurant. Guests also benefit from complimentary airport transfers when booking directly with Kamalaya.
