Macdonald Adds an Old Swan

LONDON, UK, January 16, 2006. The Old Swan Hotel in Harrogate has joined Macdonald Hotels and Resorts as its lb5 million refurbishment is set to be completed.

Operating more than 60 hotels across the UK, Macdonald Hotels and Resorts controls a business with an annual turnover of around lb250 million. Paul Gill, the General Manager at the Old Swan Hotel, said it was great news to become part of one of the most prestigious hotel chains in the UK, "Macdonald Hotels and Resorts is highly respected in the industry and have a portfolio of luxury properties throughout England and Scotland.

"Thanks to the lb5 million refurbishment, The Old Swan Hotel is being brought up to a similar standard. All of our 136 bedrooms and bathrooms have been refurbished - and they look fantastic. The project has also seen five of our conference suites, Library Restaurant, the Wedgwood Room and public areas transformed and the indoor Garden Room and Ballroom rebuilt.

"The work has already made a big difference to the whole feel of the hotel and we have already introduced the Macdonald standards to our conference and banqueting guests.
