Sunriver Resort Names New General Manager
Brian Hughes joins Central Oregon property from The Argent Hotel in SF
SUNRIVER, OR, January 17, 2006. Brian Hughes, who for the past three years has served as general manager of The Argent Hotel in San Francisco, has been named to the same position at Sunriver Resort. Both Sunriver Resort and The Argent Hotel are properties with Destination Hotels & Resorts (DH&R), a Denver-based privately held company operating 34 independent, luxury and upscale hotels, resorts and golf clubs in the U.S.
Hughes boasts 23 years of combined food and beverage and rooms and revenue management experience with noted companies such as DH&R, Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide, Hilton Hotels, and Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts. Prior to becoming GM in early 2003 at The Argent, Hughes served as that hotel's director of operations with a focus on rooms and food and beverage operations. He also previously was director of rooms with the Westin St. Francis, a 1,200-room property in San Francisco's Union Square.
"I've enjoyed four wonderful years at The Argent Hotel, but now I have an opportunity to remain with DH&R and, in doing so, join the premier golf, meeting and family vacation destination in the Northwest," said Hughes, who starts his new post at month's end with the perennial AAA Four-Diamond Award winning property based in Central Oregon, 15 miles south of Bend.

Hughes, who was raised in Canada, earned a bachelor's degree from Cornell University. He and his wife, Liz, have two children, son Jake and daughter Eva.
