Benchmark Appoints Awilda Nevarez Director of HR

HOUSTON, TX, January 15, 2007. Benchmark Hospitality International has announced the appointment of Awilda Nevarez as director of human resources for North Maple Inn, an award-winning 171-guestroom property located in Basking Ridge, New Jersey. Dan Santiago, general manager, made the announcement.

"I am so pleased to welcome Awilda to Benchmark at North Maple Inn," said Mr. Santiago. "She brings vast experience in human resource leadership and systems to her position, in addition to an infectious enthusiasm for her profession."

Awilda Nevarez was previously director of human resources for Hospitality Asset Management Company of State College, Pennsylvania. In this role, she oversaw the human resource function of multiple properties and developed innovative systems and recruitment strategies for the company.

Ms. Nevarez served the Benchmark organization previously as assistant director of human resources for the company's east coast flagship, Lansdowne Resort, located near Leesburg, Virginia. Nevarez was also human resources and payroll director for the Days Inn Penn State, State College, Pennsylvania.

Prior to joining the hospitality industry, Awilda Nevarez served as personnel and office manager for the Manhattan Center for Early Learning. She began her career as personnel and office manager for the South Bronx Overall Economic Development Corporation.

Awilda Nevarez has a degree in business administration from Monroe College of Bronx, New York. She is certified in the Seven Habits of Highly Effective People program and is an Advanced Human Resource Generalist from the Society of Human Resource Management. She and her family reside in Bushkill, Pennsylvania.
