December 15, 2010 - The Eurostars Roma Aeterna officially opens this afternoon. This is the fifth Eurostars Hotels establishment in the capital of Italy, which thus reaches a total of 704 rooms in Rome, covering almost all the tourist and business zones in the Eternal City. Based on the number of hotel rooms and events, Rome is the third most important city for Eurostars Hotels after Barcelona and Madrid.

The authorities attending the opening will include many ambassadors in Rome, representatives of the FAO, from the region of Lazio and the Rome Town Hall, as well as a strong contingent from Rome's business and tourism community.

Amancio López, Chairman of Grupo Hotusa, claims that, “Italy has always been a strategic referent for our company: here is where we opened the first hotel in our division outside of Spain, and we are still investing here now. Today we are opening our new gem in Italy, the Eurostars Roma Aeterna, which fuses classicism and modernity, just like the city itself.”

Eurostars Roma Aeterna
The Eurostars Roma Aeterna 4* is housed in the century-old headquarters of the former Serono pharmaceutical company in the Pigneto neighbourhood. This emblematic building was completely overhauled to turn it into a world-class hotel that has facilities including 144 rooms with nine suites and almost 700 m2 in meeting spaces. The seven event rooms, measuring between 28 and 245 m2, take their names from the seven hills of ancient Rome. The hotel also has a fitness room with a sauna and a gourmet restaurant that opens up onto a terrace measuring more than 200 square metres.

In its interior design, which is clearly function, the focus is on a painstaking combination of modern materials like stainless steel and glass, with the softness of velvety textures and the elegance of wenge-wood furniture and the Travertine marble used in the bathrooms. All the rooms feature a painting hung over the headboard of the bed depicting the most representative sites and buildings in the city.
