Hotel Debuts as Embassy Suites Hotels' Fourth Largest Property with more than 400 Suites

McLEAN, VA - December 16, 2010 - Embassy Suites Hotels today announced the opening of the Embassy Suites Denver - Downtown/Convention Center, which coincides with the highly anticipated debut of the brand's 50,000th suite across the Americas. Reaching this significant milestone further solidifies Embassy Suites Hotels' position as the nation's largest brand of upscale, all-suite hotels with more total suites than any of its competitors.

Centrally located across from the Colorado Convention Center in the city's lively downtown area at 1420 Stout Street, the 403-suite hotel features 14 meeting rooms, providing a total space of 22,543 square feet. Owned by WMB IX, LLC of Merrillville, Ind., and managed by Windsor Management Services, the hotel management company owned by Windsor Capital Group, the property is the fifth Embassy Suites Hotel in the Denver area.

Recognized by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) for its sustainable design and construction, the Embassy Suites Denver - Downtown/Convention Center is one of the first Embassy Suites properties to pursue LEED certification. Some of the sustainable qualities include the solar reflective roof, which reduces heat transmission, thus lowering the energy required to cool the building and the plumbing system, which is designed and constructed to reduce water use by over 30 percent compared to a typical system.

Hickenlooper said. The certification means that the building meets the standard for environmental management systems that aim to reduce the environmental footprint of a business and to decrease the pollution and waste a business produces."

The Embassy Suites Denver - Downtown/Convention Center offers a preferred address for business travelers, with a diverse range of major companies in the area. Leisure travelers will also enjoy the location, as it's close to many attractions including sporting events featuring the Denver Broncos, the Colorado Rockies, and the Colorado Avalanche. As a stunning addition to Denver's skyline, the property features a 13-story glass curtain named the “Sky Curtain.” The structure rises from the fourth floor, allowing abundant natural light to enter the hotel brand's signature atrium.
