Charlestown, Nevis - December 16, 2010 - After the success of recent media events in both New York and London, the staff at the Nevis Tourism Authority (NTA) has its finger on the pulse of current and emerging travel industry trends. “With the international TriStar111 triathlon coming to Nevis, the launch of the Kids r VIPs program in conjunction with St. Kitts and the reopening of the Four Seasons, we're confident that 2011 will be a strong year for tourism on the island,” said John Hanley, NTA CEO. “There have been many hotel and restaurant upgrades and we're eager for both our loyal return guests and new visitors to come and experience all our new offerings.”

The new Kids r VIPs program offers many new experiences for families coming to St. Kitts and Nevis in 2011. Through partnerships with activity companies and hoteliers throughout St. Kitts and Nevis, Kids r VIPS will offer children on holiday and living on the islands a chance to get active, learn a new sport or hobby or just have fun on the beach. Activities will include swimming and cycling lessons, tours and hikes, steel pan classes, as well as brand new activities that will allow children to immerse themselves into the culture and entertainment that the islands have to offer.

Four Seasons Resort Nevis re-opens December 15, 2010 after being closed for renovations since mid-October 2008, due to the impact of Hurricane Omar. The hotel's new look features completely refurbished guest rooms (all 196), showcasing both soft goods enhancements and new furnishings. The new Coral Grill restaurant will debut featuring new Executive Chef Andreas Donnerbauer, who has created a new menu of freshly grilled seafood. Back by popular demand is the Dive & Dine Experience where guests join the local dive master and the resort's executive chef on a private launch to dive for their own food. After capturing Caribbean Spiny lobsters for dinner, the chef creates a barbecue on the beach where guests step up to the grill, complete with cooking lessons, to prepare their own fresh catch. Additionally, the resort has added a new sailing school located at the watersports center on Pinney's Beach called Lasersail, which is the first resort sailing school in the Caribbean. About Nevis

Nevis, known as Queen of the Caribees, is part of the Federation of St. Kitts & Nevis and is located in the Leeward Islands of the West Indies. A tranquil island paradise where relaxation is raised to an art form, the island of Nevis is a tiny jewel just eight miles long and six miles wide. The Spanish explorers called Nevis, “Nuestra Senora de las Nieves” (Our Lady of the Snows) as a tribute to the white clouds surrounding the island's central volcanic peak. The classic Caribbean island garnered international fame by two well-known historical figures. It was the birthplace of American Patriot Alexander Hamilton as well as the setting of Captain Horatio Nelson's wedding to an island woman, Fanny Nisbet, in 1787.
