Snowmass Village, CO - December 21, 2010, - Some things stay the same: for more than a quarter of a century, thousands of leisure, corporate, social, medical, fraternal and ski groups have chosen to meet in inspiring, accessible Snowmass Village, Colorado. A world famous ski destination and multi-season resort with top end facilities and unrivaled leisure activities, Snowmass Village commemorates the silver anniversary of its first conference center. As part of the celebration, Snowmass will extend even more value, amenities and services to its groups, meetings and conference guests in 2011 and 2012.

One loyal annual group, the American College of Cardiology (ACC), has been returning to Snowmass each year since 1968 for its highly successful continuing medical education series. Jack Vogel, Director of the ACC, is putting the final touches on the 42nd program which will be hosted in January 2011 at The Silvertree Hotel and Conference Center.

"This longstanding group returns annually to Snowmass. As thought leaders in their field, they find there is no equivalent to a face to face forum for exchange of information and ideas on best practices," says John Quigley, Senior Vice President of The Silvertree Hotel and Conference Center. "Snowmass provides a stimulating setting for their program, and our association with them has resulted in a longstanding business relationship, and a strong personal friendship too." In fact, one ski run at Snowmass, accessed from the Big Burn lift, was renamed Jack O Hearts in Vogel's honor. And the moniker of the Snowmass Conference Center ballroom is now the Jack Vogel Ballroom.

The Silvertree Hotel and Conference Center, with its distinction of being the first conference center in a Colorado mountain resort, offers flexible and functional meeting space of 40,000 square feet capable of holding up to 2,000 people. There are 250 guest rooms. The 4,100 square foot Roof Garden sits on top the Conference Center and offers stunning views of the valley. The venue is in the process of a multiphase renovation, and will celebrate its 25th anniversary with some inventive, value-added offers for groups and meetings in 2011 and 2012.

Meeting planners who bring a 2011 or 2012 summer meeting to the Silvertree can choose two of the following anniversary gifts:

• One person for each 25 booked will receive complimentary hosting; • Twenty-five percent off meeting room rental; • Twenty-five percent off first meeting break; • Twenty-five percent off Audio Visual with a minimum of $2,500 in Audio Visual services; • Twenty-five upgrades to slope view rooms; • Twenty-five percent off suites; • Twenty-five percent off staff rooms.

While Snowmass looks back to celebrate its rich legacy of hospitality over twenty-five years, the outlook for the future is just as favorable, with recent investment of more than $1 billion in capital improvements in Base Village and on-mountain. The new capital investment means that meeting planners have more options than ever for accommodations, three conference venues from which to choose, and a continued top-quality experience for groups and meetings in this year-round resort.

In addition to the venerable Silvertree Hotel and Conference Center, there are two other newly constructed indoor meeting venues with accommodations in Snowmass. The Viceroy Snowmass is a 173 room hotel offering sophistication and mountain resort amenities including 8,000 square feet of flexible conference space, a 7,000 square foot spa, fitness center, year-round swimming pool, casual and fine dining restaurants. One of the first LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certified hotels in America, Viceroy Snowmass is on the vanguard of new resort conference hotels around the world. The modern, alpine inspired architecture and interiors are accented with reclaimed timber and textural stone, embossed metals and crystalline glass, cashmere and reconstituted leather.

The Capitol Peak and Hayden Lodges, constructed in 2007, are also a premier location for a Snowmass meeting, located in the heart of the village. These premium ski-in/ski-out studios to three-bedroom condominiums offer proximity to restaurants, shopping, two gondolas and a high-speed lift. The Base Village Conference Center, on site at the Capitol Peak Lodge, offers 5,000 square foot conference and wedding facilities for up to 350.

The millions in recent investment changes the infrastructure but not the value equation for planners doing business in Snowmass: meeting planners can still rely on the 100+ years of collective knowledge and expertise of the Snowmass Tourism Groups and Meetings pros, the value-added and complimentary amenities and resources that make planning a meeting at Snowmass an efficient and pleasurable process, and the relative bargain of the product that is just 9 miles from Aspen, Colorado, but without the Aspen price tag.

While snow packs the slopes in winter months, summer visitors to Snowmass enjoy slope side entertainment from June through September when the resort's concerts and other festivals are in full swing. Convenient air and land access, coupled with free transportation, make getting into and around Snowmass Village trouble-free. No mountain resort in the world has more air access to an airport less than ten miles away than Aspen and Snowmass. The Aspen-Pitkin County Airport (ASE), just six miles from Snowmass, offers over 150 nonstop flights weekly alone—from Denver, Chicago/O'Hare, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Houston, currently via air carriers United and Frontier Airlines. All of these elements have contributed to Snowmass Village's reputation as a top-notch destination for a meeting or conference for the past several decades, and will guarantee its popularity long into the future.
