TUMON. Guam, January 24, 23007. With the success of the first Guam Ko'ko' Road Race firmly established, the Guam Visitors Bureau is busy planning for the 2007 race. The 2nd Annual Ko'ko' Road Race will be held on Sunday, October 14, 2007 in conjunction with the 20th Guam Micronesian Island Fair.

The Guam Ko'ko' Road Race is comprised of two races, the first is a 20km Oceania Championship qualifier followed by a 4 x 5km Ekiden, or relay race. As with the original Guam Ko'ko' Road Race, the second will also utilize magnetic chip timing for accuracy and immediacy of results.

The 2nd Annual Guam Ko'ko' Road Race follows the same course, beginning and ending at Ypao Beach Park. Participants of the 20K will lead the race with Ekiden competitors taking off fifteen minutes later. The course runs predominantly along Guam's main highway, Marine Corps Drive.

Throughout the race there will be conveniently located water stops and toilet facilities, along with local entertainment and cheering squads to keep the excitement at a fevered pitch and the competitors motivated.

Last year the Guam Ko'ko' Road Race welcomed 390 runners from Guam and Japan. This year, the GVB hopes to attract an even larger contingent of international racers from who will come to Guam for the Guam Ko'ko' Road Race and to enjoy all the color and spectacle of the 20th Guam Micronesian Island Fair, a two day event full of culture, tradition, entertainment, and refreshment from the various islands of Micronesia.
