UNITED KINGDOM, AUgust 24, 2006. Macdonald Hotels has appointed Debbie Johnson as Regional Director for the North West of England with responsibility for repositioning four of the Group's key hotels into the premium four-star market.

In her previous role, Debbie spent a successful period at the Macdonald Brandon Hall during which time she spear-headed its massive lb10m upgrade. Debbie will now drive both the corporate and leisure business for the newly refurbished Macdonald Norton Grange, Macdonald Tickled Trout, Macdonald Kilhey Court and Macdonald Craxton Wood. In addition, Debbie will also have responsibility for two of the Group's associated hotels, The Lymm Hotel and the Blossoms Hotel.

With over 25 year's continual service with the Group, having started as a Graduate Trainee Manager, Debbie Johnson is a strong believer that a hotel's greatest asset is its people. One of her first plans is to harness the enthusiasm and knowledge of her team and staff.

Speaking about her new Regional Director role, Debbie Johnson said, "The role of Regional Director is a great challenge. Primarily, I will be responsible for repositioning my four, newly refurbished Macdonald hotels into the premium four star market, whilst overseeing operations at The Lymm Hotel and the Blossoms Hotel.

"I have a great platform to start from: the facilities at each of my Macdonald hotels have been recently redeveloped, offering 317 newly refurbished, luxurious bedrooms; three new VITAL health, fitness and beauty clubs; and new state of the art conference rooms at the Macdonald Kilhey Court and the Macdonald Norton Grange.

"With each of the four hotels upgraded to offer premium accommodation, my next task is to grow and nurture the teams at each of these properties with everyone fully focussed on delivering first class service to match the first-class facilities."

Welcoming Debbie Johnson to her new position, David Guile, the Group's Deputy Chief Executive said:

"Debbie has been with the Group for over 25 years and her promotion to Regional Director is much deserved. She is a committed, hardworking member of the team who knows how to the get the best out of others to the benefit of guests.

"Debbie will be responsible for driving sales in the Region whilst overseeing the operations at each of her six hotels."
