Villas of Grand Cypress Names New GM and Director of Sales

Both joined resort in 1989

ORLANDO, FL, February 15, 2007. The Villas of Grand Cypress Golf Resort has promoted two veteran employees to key roles. Mark Cox, previously director of marketing and operations, now is general manager. Matt Butler, a national sales manager for the past 10 years, now is director of sales.

Both Cox and Butler joined the resort^1s staff in 1989. Cox, a graduate of the University of Central Florida, began his hospitality career at the Marriott Orlando. Butler worked in operations and sales before becoming a national sales manager.

The resort just completed a multi-million renovation of all of its 146 guest rooms. The guest rooms are in villas located next to 45 holes of Jack Nicklaus signature designed golf. The resort also includes the Grand Cypress Academy of Golf, the Grand Cypress Equestrian Center and the Black Swan Restaurant, which just received its 17th consecutive AAA Four Diamond rating.

The Villas of Grand Cypress has earned a AAA Four Diamond resort award every year since 1993, the readers of Conde Nast Traveler ranked it among their Top 100 Golf Resorts (46th overall, #1 in Orlando and #2 in Florida) for 2006 and the readers of Florida Monthly Magazine named it 'Florida^1s Best Golf Resort' for 2006.
