Park Plaza to Open Fifth London Hotel
FEBRUARY 21, 2007. Park Plaza Hotels Europe announce their fifth London hotel, Park Plaza County Hall, will open in September 2007. Acorn-award holder Greg Hegarty has been appointed General Manager and transfers from the Park Plaza Sherlock Holmes hotel, where he achieved 23% sales growth year on year during his impressive 13 months there. At just 29, Greg is one of the youngest GM's in the London circuit and has extensive management experience covering multiple Thistle Hotel properties nationwide.
Linda Lewis has joined the company as Director of Sales, having held Area Sales Director positions with both Thistle Hotels London and The Intercontinental Hotels Group covering four UK airport locations.
Park Plaza County Hall is ideally located for business or pleasure - next to Waterloo rail station offering access to three underground lines and mainline rail services to the south - and on top of some of the Southbank's most visited museums, theatres, bars, restaurants and cafes.
Each of the hotel's 395 guestrooms will feature marbled en-suite bathroom with bath and separate walk-in shower, large flat screen televisions, iron and ironing board, tea and coffee making facilities, mini bar and laptop safe. Most guestrooms will also offer a fitted kitchenette and relaxed seating area, and high-level penthouse suites will boast stunning views of the river overlooking Westminster Bridge, Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament and the London Eye. A studio suite, of which the hotel will offer 295, is now available for viewing by appointment only.
This brand-new addition to the regenerated Southbank skyline will expose a dramatic atrium seen from the concept restaurant on the mezzanine floor, plus a fully-staffed business centre serving 6 modern and state-of-the-art meeting rooms, fitness suite and lounge bar.
Park Plaza County Hall is being developed in partnership with Galliard Homes and Frogmore Property Company Limited and is scheduled to open on time and within its sizeable lb100m budget.
