Meetings, Conferences and Board Retreats at The Alfond Inn

Natural Light and Florida Sunshine Fill The Boardroom at The Alfond Inn

. September 17, 2014

Winter Park, Florida - September 17, 2014 - The Alfond Inn, the stylish boutique hotel that opened in Winter Park just over a year ago, has already welcomed dozens of meetings, conferences and board retreats to the greater Orlando market.

The hotel, which is owned by Rollins College and earned a prestigious AAA Four Diamond status just eight months after opening, has become a hub for top-tier C-level meetings from the financial, insurance, medical and pharmaceutical industries. It has also become the go-to space for special events and weddings, a specialized niche in Winter Park's very social community.

"We are delighted to have found our place in the greater Orlando meetings market," says Debbie Potter, Director of Sales and Marketing. "Since opening, the meetings and corporate business has been incredibly robust and continues to grow. There is clearly a pent-up need for a warm and welcoming boutique environment with an intimate setting like ours for business gatherings."

Meeting planners appreciate that while The Alfond Inn is an intimate boutique property, it has an impressive 10,000 square feet of meeting space and a dedicated AV company on site, making it a breed apart from the typical large-scale convention-style hotels in the greater Orlando area. Planners also value the location, a leafy neighborhood hotel in pedestrian-friendly Winter Park. A short stroll along a quiet tree-lined sidewalk brings meeting attendees to the heart of Park Avenue, with its shops and cafes. Attendees at meetings and retreats have access to The Alfond Inn's pool & fitness center, as well as the full service bar and Hamilton's Kitchen restaurant, which has quickly become a bright light in the dynamic restaurant scene of Winter Park. Event catering for meetings and special events is overseen by the restaurant's Executive Chef Marc Kusche, a veteran of several Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts.

A Meeting Venue That Embraces Philanthropy & Art

The 112-room Alfond Inn was built with a $12.5-million grant from the Harold Alfond Foundation. Net operating income from the Inn is directed to The Alfond Scholars program fund, Rollins College's premier scholarship fund. The Alfond Inn features rotating displays from the $5 million Alfond Collection of Contemporary Art at Rollins College, an extension of the Cornell Fine Arts Museum. Meeting planners and more importantly, their attendees, appreciate the pay-it-forward feeling that comes with doing business with a purpose-driven hotel. They understand that they are part of a greater purpose and are helping to contribute to the education of deserving students.
