Intercontinental Los Angeles' DoSM Jake Megrikian, Named 2014 Site Kevin Forde Spirit Award Honoree

LOS ANGELES, CA - (ecember 11, 2014) - The 2014 Society for Incentive Travel Excellence (SITE) recognized InterContinental Los Angeles' Jake Megrikian for his outstanding work and extraordinary efforts as co-chair of the SITE Young Leaders Committee. At the November 16, 2014 Global Conference gala, held in Rotterdam, Netherlands, Megrikian was honored with the 2014 Kevin Forde Spirit Award, alongside co-chair Melaya Horsten of Ignite Magazine.

Each year, the organization grants the Kevin Forde Spirit Award to a deserving SITE member who demonstrates generosity with their time and energy to help and advise others in the industry, as well as volunteers with the local chapter and gives back to the global SITE community.

Mr. Megrikian and Ms. Horsten received the award following their successful development of the 2014 SITE Young Leaders conference in Las Vegas. Both were celebrated for playing an instrumental role in the rapid growth of the program. “We are so proud of Jake for this prestigious industry award,” said Steve Choe, InterContinental Los Angeles general manager. “He is not only a valuable asset to our hotel, but this goes to show how helpful he is to the industry at large. Mr. Megrikian has been an active and influential member of SITE since 2012 and co-chair of SITE Young Leaders since January 2013. The SITE Young Leaders program was designed to build the next generation of motivational, experienced leaders by providing education and networking opportunities that appeal directly to younger generations.
