Benchmark Location and Loyal Staff Touted
CLEVELAND, OH. July 14, 2015 - Aimbridge Hospitality, the nation's second largest independent hotel investment and management firm, announced today it has finalized an agreement to manage the renowned Renaissance Cleveland Hotel, the Grande Dame of hotels in Northeastern Ohio. The historic property on Public Square in Cleveland, opened in 1918 and has remained an operating hotel for 100 years. Today it is part of the Tower City Center complex.
As Aimbridge Hospitality transitions the hotel to its proprietary management systems, hotel employees of the former management company will transfer to the new system. “Transferring management to a new company is standard procedure in the hospitality industry,” says David Johnson, President and CEO of Aimbridge Hospitality, “The transition will be seamless for our hotel guests and clients and there will be no impact on bookings for upcoming events. We look forward to working with the hotel's loyal staff to insure a first-rate experience for our guests.”
As Cleveland prepares to host the July 2016 Republican National Convention, downtown hotels are making plans to host an estimated 50,000 people next summer. The historic Renaissance Hotel, renowned for its dramatic Italian Renaissance design, will play an important hospitality role for Convention events.
