. October 14, 2008

PHOENIX, AZ, August 18, 2005. Best Western guests will find their stays twice as rewarding this fall as the world's largest hotel chain launches its annual "Double Up" promotion.

From September 6 through December 14, 2005, members of Best Western's free Gold Crown Club International (GCCI) loyalty program will earn their choice of either double points or double miles with every qualified hotel stay at any of the more than 4,100 member properties around the world. Point redemption awards include free room nights with no blackout dates; Best Western Travel Cards; as well as dining, shopping and entertainment options featuring such popular spots as Starbucks, Target and SeaWorld.

In addition, GCCI Platinum and Diamond Elite-level guests will receive an entry into a special "Double Up" sweepstakes with each qualified stay. Members will be vying for one of 10 cash prizes of $5,000.

"This fall, it really pays to be a Gold Crown Club International member," said Dorothy Dowling, Best Western's senior vice president of marketing. "Whether traveling on business or leisure, guests can earn a variety of product and service awards in just half the time, and perhaps even a little spending money for that next road trip. As a GCCI customer, they'll also be able to take advantage of exciting and exclusive new specials coming in 2006."

To be eligible for "Double Up," guests must be GCCI members and register prior to their first stay at www.bestwestern.com/double, or call 1-800-WESTERN and mention promotion code DOUBLE. Individuals who are not already GCCI members can sign up for the program when registering for the offer.

Best Western "Double Up" awards are available to residents of the United States, Canada, the Caribbean and Asia. Guests must provide their GCCI membership card or number at hotel check-in to receive their additional bonus. For those guests selecting airline miles as their award option, no flight is required to qualify. Miles earned will be credited to the guests' accounts six-to-eight weeks following their hotel stay.
