Chef Alan Mardonovich Takes Helm of Resort's Award-winning Michael Mina Restaurant

July 13, 2016 - The newly reimagined AAA Five Diamond beachside getaway, Monarch Beach Resort, today announced the appointment of Alan Mardonovich as Executive Chef of the property's signature restaurant, STONEHILL TAVERN. A culinary professional with more than 10 years of experience, Mardonovich will help lead the menu development, operational procedures and event planning of Michael Mina's modern American restaurant while continuing to uphold the celebrity chef's philosophy of constructing bold yet balanced flavors. Chef Alan's arrival is well-timed, coming on the heels of the resort's recent $40 million renovation that includes five new dining concepts and a revitalized food and beverage program, establishing itself as Southern California's newest epicurean escape.

Mardonovich most recently served as Executive Chef at Gordon Ramsay Pub & Grill at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas where he supervised a staff of more than 40 while managing the food production and back of house operations at this Strip favorite. Prior to this role, he enjoyed five years as the Chef de Cuisine at Restaurant Guy Savoy at Caesars Palace and also held a position as the Executive Sous Chef at Palazzo's Restaurant Charlie Trotter, earning a “less is more” approach to his culinary practice. Mardonovich also enjoyed time at Nove Italiano and RM Seafood at Mandalay Bay.
