St Lucia's Coco Palm Hotel Opens In Rodney Bay Village

. October 14, 2008

ST LUCIA, August 22, 2005. Downtown chic has a Caribbean beat with the opening of Coco Palm, St. Lucia's newest four-star boutique hotel offering the perfect fusion of Creole tradition and contemporary design. The 83-room hotel will formally open September 24th and is the second of two properties opened in the last two years by Coco Resorts with an emphasis on Caribbean Chic.

Coco Palm is owned and operated by Allen Chastanet, a Caribbean hotel industry veteran who helped launch Chris Blackwell's Island Outpost group of boutique hotels in the mid-90s. Chastanet created Coco Palm by extending the South Beach lifestyle hotel concept to St. Lucia. His vision is to offer travellers hassle-free check-in, faster service, around the clock attention and whatever extra effort it takes to make every single guest feel valued. "I have surrounded myself with people who not only share my vision but share my passion and knowledge of the industry," explains Chastanet. "An enormous amount of thought and attention went into every detail in creating Coco Palm. When you look at the rates you will be amazed at level of service, the stylish modern amenities, and the truly authentic Caribbean details." Affordable room rates start at just $125 per night, now through December 15.

The trademark of Coco Palm is its "Hosts," individuals who are dedicated to a specific floor with the aim of personalizing each guest's experience. The "host" simplifies the check-in/check-out procedure by eliminating the traditional registration desk and greeting each guest upon arrival. "After a long day of travelling, arriving at even the speediest check-in desk can seem like a chore. At Coco Palm, check-in is done at your leisure, by an attentive team of hosts, available throughout your stay," explained Chastanet.

Coco Palm is a four-story hotel with 71 rooms and 12 suites. Each room is dressed in island colors of blue, green or yellow with plantation style, rich mahogany wood furniture. St. Lucian artwork lines the walls and handmade light fixtures molded from local clay light up the rooms. Bathrooms feature glass-walled shower stalls with "rain shower" heads and a built in seating area in the shower. All rooms include modern amenities such as air conditioning, DVD players, Wi-Fi, Direct TV, CD players, cordless phones and walk-in showers.

A large swimming pool surrounds the hotel and guests who book Coco Palm's Swim-Up rooms can literally dive into the pool from their terrace. The top floor of Coco Palm has a private roof deck for dining, weddings, yoga, and spa treatments. Coco Palm also offers two restaurants: Kaf'e Kaiso, an air-conditioned caf'e open 24/7, with a pool table, a cocktail lounge, and a spectacular view of Rodney Bay Village; and TiBananne, an alfresco dining experience that offers Caribbean Creole fare and nightly entertainment.

Coco Palm is located in the heart of Rodney Bay Village, the liveliest spot on the northern part of the island with 20 different restaurants, shops, galleries, and a renowned golf course. It is a two-minute walk to Reduit Beach, rated the most beautiful beach on the island. St. Lucia is an activity-lovers paradise with everything from horseback riding and hiking the rain forest to snorkelling the crystal blue waters or taking a helicopter ride over the Pitons. At Coco Palm guests are encouraged to immerse themselves in St. Lucia's vibrant culture, adventures, and cuisine. Coco Palm offers special packages including an "Island Girls Getaway," seasonal family packages and a St. Lucian adventure program.
