New Star Chef At The Sheraton Stockholm Hotel & Towers

STOCKHOLM, EU, August 22, 205. Pontus Frithiof, the celebrated Swedish Chef, has joined forces with the five star Sheraton Stockholm Hotel & Towers in the Swedish capital city. Overseeing the hotel's banqueting offering, Pontus, with his customary flair, has created new menus of classic Scandinavian ingredients with a contemporary twist.

Pontus is renowned in Sweden as the name behind several famous restaurants 'Pontus in the Green House,' 'Pontus by the Sea', both in Stockholm; and 'Fran Pontus' a catering service. 'Pontus in the Green House' has been voted the best restaurant in Sweden by newspaper `Dagens Industri' and Pontus himself as the 'Chef of the Year' by magazine `Gourmet' in 2000.

The Sheraton Stockholm & Towers has the capacity to hold banqueting functions for up to 900 people and was recently the venue for a UNICEF Charity Lunch that was hosted by the Crown Princess HM Victoria and UNICEF ambassador Sir Roger Moore.

Pontus Frithiof was born in Stockholm 1972 and throughout his career has worked with numerous master chefs in Europe. Previous experience in Scandinavia includes working with Leif Mannerstr"om at Sj"omagasinet in Gothenburg, and in Stockholm at Eriks Bakficka, Tivoli Bar and Chef du Cuisine at Eriks i Gamla Stan. Pontus also worked in Paris at Le Copenhague in Paris, as well as completing his apprenticeship at L'Ecailler du Palais Royal in Brussels.
