Paramount Hotel Group Expands Footprint With Addition of Florida, Louisiana and Texas Hotels to Portfolio

Paramount Hotel Group, a full-service third-party hotel management company, announced today that it has added four properties to the growing portfolio of hotels that it has under management. They are the SpringHill Suites in Tampa, Florida, the Springhill Suites Houston Rosenberg, the Fairfield Inn & Suites Houston - Conroe, and the New Orleans Marriott Metairie in Metairie, Louisiana. Ethan Kramer, President of Paramount Hotel Group, made the announcement.

  • 127-room Springhill Suites Tampa North/I-75 Tampa Palms: Renovated in November 2017, this SpringHill Suites features 127 rooms. Each well-appointed room features a separate living area, 43" flat screen HD TV, microwave/mini-fridge, comfortable beds with lush bedding, a large work desk and high speed Internet access. The hotel also features an outdoor pool, a fitness center, and a snack bar/deli. Free buffet breakfast is provided, as well as free WiFi in public areas, free self-parking, and a free manager's reception. Other amenities include a 24-hour business center, coffee/tea in a common area, and dry cleaning.
  • 118-room SpringHill Suites Houston - Rosenberg: Located just south of Sugarland and Houston, this SpringHill Suites combines first-class comfort with contemporary elegance & personalized service. Situated next to the Brazos Town Center, a large development project with shopping and dining lifestyles, the SpringHill Suites by Marriott is the only all suites hotel in town. Each room features a separate living area, 37" flat screen HD TV's, microwave/mini-fridge, comfortable beds with lush bedding, high speed Internet access, large work desk. Other highlights include complimentary hot breakfast, fitness center, business center, as well as an outdoor pool.
  • 121-room Fairfield Inn & Suites Houston - Conroe: This Art Deco hotel is located in Conroe, Texas, within a 5-minute drive of Conroe Outlet Mall and just a few miles from Lake Conroe and Sam Houston National Forest. Each of its 121 air-conditioned rooms features a refrigerator, flat-screen TV, comfortable beds with lush bedding, high speed Internet access, a large work desk and complimentary WiFi. Other highlights include complimentary hot breakfast, 24-hour fitness center, business center, as well as an outdoor pool.
  • 220-room New Orleans Marriott Metairie at Lakeway: Designed for comfort and convenience, the New Orleans Marriott Metairie at Lakeway seamlessly blends classic style with modern tech and a great location in the hub of Metairie's CBD. Well-appointed rooms include free WiFi, plush bedding, and views of Lake Pontchartrain or the New Orleans skyline. The hotel also offers 10,564 square feet of flexible meeting space. The Bistreaux Restaurant features locally sourced ingredients and Chef-crafted southern specialties and the Market offers Starbucks coffee and specialty beverages along with light snacks and grab ‘n go breakfast and lunch items. The hotel is only eight miles from the French Quarter and the New Orleans Airport.

Food & Beverage: New Technological Innovations

In the past few years, hotel food and beverage departments have experienced significant growth. Managers are realizing just how much revenue potential this sector holds, both in terms of additional revenue and as a means to enhance the guest experience. As a result, substantial investments are being made in F&B operations as a way to satisfy hotel guests but also to keep pace with the competition. Though it has been a trend for many years, the Farm-to-Table movement shows no signs of abating. Hotel chains are abandoning corporate restaurants and are instead partnering with local chefs to create locally-influenced dining options. Local, farm-sourced ingredients paired with specialty beverages or local wine also satisfies the increasing demand from Millennial travelers who are eager to travel sustainably and contribute to a positive impact. A farm-to-table F&B program also helps to support the local economy, which builds community goodwill. Also popular are "Self-Serv" and "Grab & Go" options. These concepts stem from an awareness that a guest's time is limited and if a hotel can supply them with fast, fresh, food and beverage choices, then so much the better for them. Plus, by placing these specialty kiosks in areas that might be traditionally under-utilized (the lobby, for instance), they can become popular destination locations. Of course, there are new technological innovations as well. In-room, on-screen menus allow guests to order from any restaurant on the property, and some hotels are partnering with delivery companies that make it possible for guests to order food from any restaurant in the area. Also, many hotels are implementing in-room, voice-activated devices, so ordering food via an AI-powered assistant will soon become mainstream as well. The August issue of the Hotel Business Review will report on these developments and document what some leading hotels are doing to expand this area of their business.
