Hyatt Regency San Francisco Unveils $50 Million Guestroom Renovation

Hyatt Regency San Francisco, San Francisco's premier waterfront hotel in the city's Embarcadero, announces the completion of a $50 million guestroom renovation led by renowned design firm Looney & Associates. The hotel also receives AAA's Four Diamond award recognizing the hotel's upscale style and amenities.

Urban Modernism Enriched by a Diverse Cultural Landscape was the core concept behind the transformation of the hotel's guestrooms and suites. Guests are greeted with modernized rooms grounded by natural wood & concrete tones, punctuated with deeply saturated pops of color. The details, textures, artwork and colors found in the design were directly inspired by the surrounding locale.

New porcelain tile is carried from the entryway into the bathroom, while the design of the new carpet in the sleeping area is a nod to the building's angular architecture. Enlarged bathrooms offer spacious showers, refreshing rainfall showerheads, vanities with stone counters and ample storage, and oversized lit mirrors. Each revamped guestroom includes a large open closet with integrated lighting and platform beds with integrated sconces, up-lighting, convenience outlets and motion-activated night lights.

New contemporary furnishings include a spacious chaise lounge or lounge chair, generous stone-surface desk, multi-purpose table, and wall-mounted high-definition televisions. Select rooms feature a sliding serenity door that separates the sleeping area from the entryway for additional privacy and relaxation. Guests can also take advantage of the updated private balconies with new furniture and iconic waterfront or city views.

Hyatt Regency San Francisco is home to the world's largest hotel atrium which was designed by renowned architect John Portman in the iconic brutalist architectural style. Seeking to complement the existing structure and bring a modern and sophisticated design throughout the property, the open corridors have been updated with plush carpeting inspired by the building's angular geometry, bright textural wallcovering & light wood accents.

In addition to the renovation, the resort has also received AAA's prestigious Four Diamond designation. The designation recognizes hotels for excellent operational qualifications essential for guest satisfaction and safety as well as upscale style, amenities and services. Four Diamond designation also recognizes that the hotel passes a thorough cleanliness inspection of visible cleanliness plus an ATP surface testing of its surfaces so guests can rest assured their room is as clean as possible. Diamond inspections are conducted by trained experts who evaluate the guest experience with consistent, objective criteria.
