At the turn of the millennium, 2020 seemed lightyears away. But with the start of the new decade almost upon us, we are reflecting and asking -- how far have we actually come, and, more importantly, have we achieved our established goals?
There are many ways to measure success in the hotel industry, from the longevity of a brand, to its open portfolio and pipeline, to guest, team member and owner satisfaction. We are proud to say that the All Suites brands by Hilton have not only achieved high marks in all of these areas but have also consistently exceeded business expectations throughout their history, often ahead of schedule. We have raised the bar of what is expected from all-suite hotels, while still delivering a consistent and strong return for our owners, who in return have invested with us time and time again.
The achievements of each of our All Suites brands by Hilton are a testament to this spirit of innovation that has propelled us to the forefront of the industry. Embassy Suites by Hilton pioneered the full-service All Suites model 35 years ago, and as the brand celebrates this milestone anniversary in 2019, it continues to grow globally. Meanwhile, Homewood Suites by Hilton is celebrating 30 years of being an extended stay leader, hitting the 500th open hotel milestone and flexing its strength as a dependable choice for owners.
In fact, the brand was recently included in Brand Finance's Hotels 50 2019 Annual Report for increasing in brand value by 99 percent year over year. Rounding out this dynamic trio, is Home2 Suites by Hilton, one of the fastest-growing brands in Hilton's history, with more than 340 hotels in its portfolio and counting as it quickly adds destinations like downtown Tampa, San Francisco, and more to its growing roster of urban locations. Combined, the brands have more than 1,000 outstanding open hotels that have stood the test of time.
This has been a monumental year for the All Suites brands, and we plan to push the envelope of success even further in 2020. The future is bright for our brands as we continue to evolve our building models to be more efficient, and we are using these methods to break into new international markets while strengthening our footprint in our own backyard. To keep up with evolving guests desires, we are strategically enhancing our technology offerings from the Hilton Honors app to Digital Key and Connected Room to give travelers the ability to personalize every aspect of their stay.
And, we remain focused on the larger impact we have on the communities where our properties are located, and where our guests and Team Members live and work, by doubling down on corporate social responsibility and environmental consciousness through Hilton's Travel with Purpose platform and the Clean the World Challenge.
