Sonesta Adds Nine More Hotels and Launches New Brand: Sonesta Select

USA, Newton, Massachusetts. February 22, 2021

Sonesta International Hotels Corporation is excited to introduce nine new hotels to its growing portfolio of U.S. destinations and the launch of the company's latest brand, Sonesta Select. Sonesta Select is an upscale, focused-service brand designed to deliver the same authentic award-winning hospitality Sonesta is known for.

Earlier today, Sonesta welcomed guests to the first nine Sonesta Select hotels, with over 60 additional locations slated to complete the brand's launch in early 2021. With these additions, Sonesta adds new properties in its existing markets of Atlanta, GA; Boston, MA; Chicago, IL; Fort Worth, TX, and Washington, D.C. while also expanding its footprint to include Raleigh-Durham, NC; Chattanooga, TN; and Spartanburg, SC. Conveniently located close to area airports, business hubs, bustling urban cores, and picturesque suburban neighborhoods, Sonesta Select hotels will cater to markets throughout the U.S with strong business and leisure demand.

The new upscale focused-service brand Sonesta Select will join Sonesta's four other brands in the U.S.: Royal Sonesta, distinctive full-service hotels; Sonesta Hotels & Resorts, full-service destinations, Sonesta ES Suites, premier extended stay accommodations; and the recently introduced Sonesta Simply Suites, a curated extended-stay offering, introduced with its 60-hotel launch earlier this month. By early 2021, Sonesta Select with over 70 destinations will have completed another one of the largest hospitality brand launches in the U.S. - adding to Sonesta's recent significant growth.

"We're excited about the continued rapid growth of our portfolio of hotels and the launch of our newest brand Sonesta Select," said Carlos Flores, President and CEO, Sonesta International Hotels Corporation. "This upscale focused-service brand is designed to be a prudent choice for travelers seeking affordable comfort, modern convenience, and Sonesta's signature hospitality."

Sonesta Select features thoughtfully designed spaces meant to encourage guests to feel at home while satisfying their needs and enriching their life while on the road. Generously sized rooms and well-crafted common areas provide space for guests to spread out, help get work done or relax. From an early morning cappuccino to a well-earned evening cocktail or a late-night snack, Sonesta Select is designed to please and reward its guests. Sonesta Select will make their time away from home personal and unique.

Featuring a portfolio of diverse and distinctive properties as unique as its guests, there is no typical Sonesta. Found in many of the most memorable destinations in the world, Sonesta proudly exceeds guest expectations by delivering an authentic experience time and time again. Eco-Friendly Practices: Now More Than Ever

One theory about the pandemic states that future viruses are more likely to originate and flourish due to global warming. If true, the urgency to accelerate the adoption of eco-friendly practices is greater than ever. Of course, there are many other reasons to create a sustainable operation, including reduced utility costs, savings on operational costs, healthier and happier guests and employees, and positive publicity, marketing and community goodwill. Many hotels are introducing innovative programs into their operations - from recycling bins in guest rooms to starting a roof top garden. Other hotels are using eco-friendly cleaning products, reusing towels and sheets, sourcing locally grown food, supporting the use of electric vehicles, and permitting guests to refill their reusable water bottles with clean, filtered water. Finally, some hotels are encouraging guests to get involved by making it possible for them to participate in local community clean-up projects. The May issue of the Hotel Business Review will document what some hotels are doing to integrate sustainable practices into their operations and how they are benefiting from them.
