JULY 23, 2007. The Doubletree Guest Suites(R) Boston has earned the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA's) prestigious ENERGY STAR(R), the national symbol for protecting the environment through superior energy performance. By earning the ENERGY STAR, the Doubletree Guest Suites Boston is using at least 35 percent less energy than average buildings, while still providing quality service and comfort to its hotel guests and employees. Located near some of the nation's finest universities overlooking the scenic Charles River and Boston Esplanade recreational trails with panoramic views of the Boston and Cambridge skylines, this upscale, 308-suite hotel joins approximately 930 buildings nationwide that earned the ENERGY STAR in 2006. The hotel is managed by Hilton Hotels Corporation (NYSE:HLT).

"The Doubletree Guest Suites Boston is proud to accept the EPA's ENERGY STAR in recognition of our energy efficiency efforts,' said Christian Coffin, hotel general manager. "As a business that firmly believes in caring about our employees, our hotel guests and the community we serve, each of our team members that represent the Doubletree Guest Suites Boston are making individual and collective commitments towards environmental stewardship as a result of this achievement.'

The Doubletree Guest Suites Boston celebrates its ENERGY STAR achievement as part of a multi-phase, hotelwide renovation project at the hotel. The hotel team has worked with the owner of the facility to provide financial and administrative support by making cost-effective improvements to the building through this energy conservation effort. Not only were style upgrades made to guestrooms, a conscious effort was undertaken by the hotel team to research and install new energy efficient fixtures and appliances, wherever possible.

'Our team is pleased with the great strides we've made to improve upon the guest experience at the Doubletree Guest Suites Boston. Not only have we recreated a refreshing hotel product for our guests, we've found ways to improve our business through reduced energy costs as proven through our new ENERGY STAR affiliation, and we're making a positive difference to make our world a better place in the process,' continues Mr. Coffin.

Modern, residential style guestroom comforts completed in recent months include the brand's signature Sweet Dreams(R) by Doubletree sleep experience. This luxurious night's sleep includes a plentiful amount of pillows, a luxurious linen package of a down-filled duvet wrapped in triple sheeting and a specially designed plush-top mattress and box spring system that can help make a great night's sleep. In-room coffee service with energy saving refrigerators in upgraded guestrooms; 26" LCD flat-panel televisions in living rooms and new lighting with compact fluorescent bulbs are just some of the upgrades recently installed.

In the U.S., energy loss from commercial buildings represents almost 18 percent of our greenhouse gas emissions. According to the EPA, Americans, with the help of ENERGY STAR, saved $12 billion and prevented greenhouse gas emissions equal to those from 23 million vehicles in 2005 alone. The EPA reports that more than 3,200 buildings have earned the ENERGY STAR since 1999.
