Kara J. LaVecchia Promoted to GM Hotel on Mt. Charleston

. October 14, 2008

LAS VEGAS, NV, February 19, 2008. John Glen DiGuiseppe, President and CEO of Investors Hospitality Management, operator of Las Vegas' mountain resort, The Hotel on Mt. Charleston, is pleased to announce the promotion of Kara J. LaVecchia from Director of Food and Beverage to General Manager for Las Vegas' unique getaway in the mountains of the Toiyabe National Forest.

Ms. LaVecchia paved the way for her career in hospitality by achieving a Bachelor's degree with a major in mathematics from the University of Nevada at Las Vegas. Prior to her recruitment to work at The Hotel on Mt. Charleston, LaVecchia managed Mimi's Caf'e in Las Vegas for two years. Citing that Mimi's Caf'e was a great company to work for, LaVecchia enjoyed the promotion of that restaurant for families with children as well as adults.

Resident of the City of Las Vegas for 20 years, LaVecchia affirms her commute to her mountain resort is 33 minutes door-to-door. "The potential here is endless, and we have the right staff in place," comments LaVecchia. "It is a world apart but 30 minutes from Vegas, and it doesn't get much better than that." LaVecchia has been making it even better though. She remodeled the kitchen and is now overseeing the completion of a spa and gym that will be available for staff as well as guests. "Employees are the ones who take care of our guests and I insure they are taken care of," comments the GM.

"The change of the seasons is the most appreciated factor of the hotel guests," notes LaVecchia, "the green, the change of color, the mountain air and coolness even during summer time that captivate our visitors."

Mt. Charleston's Conference Center is Ideal for meetings with 40 attendees. LaVecchia defines the meeting experience as "ideal" because the hotel's serene location lessens the distractibility factor of the Strip yet allows for that enjoyment at the end of the day when participants can divert themselves in the City by a half-hour drive. Mt. Charleston's scenic locale is also popular for weddings and film location shoots. A romantic getaway, The Hotel on Mt. Charleston is best enjoyed by snugglers warming to a roaring fire and sipping hot chocolate, the essential remedy for today's time-deprived travelers.

"This is my baby now," concludes La Vecchia. Like her children, LaVecchia will nurture that development with all her energy. La Vecchia is in the process of orchestrating packages for ski, golf and fitness. For further information about Kara J. LaVecchia, GM, The Hotel on Mt.
