Raffles "Best Hotel in Asia" for Second Year
MAY 15, 2008. For the second consecutive year, Raffles Hotel Singapore was conferred Best Hotel in Asia and presented with the ULTRA - Ultimate Luxury Travel Related Award, at the ceremony held at a gala luncheon in London, UK on 13 May 2008.
This is another prestigious addition to the mantle of international accolades bestowed on the hotel since it welcomed its first guests through its majestic doors and vaulted interiors 121 years ago. Other recent honours are the inclusion in Robb Report's Famed List of "Luxury Hotels: The World's Ultimate City Escapes" for the second time; and Travel + Leisure's Top 100 World's Best Hotels and Top 50 in Asia.
Organised by Ultratravel magazine, the Ultratravel 100 award is the result of a consumer-driven survey that reconciles votes from readers on their favourite travel partners worldwide including leading airlines, resorts, hotels and travel companies in 20 ultimate luxury travel categories.
With over 500,000 in circulation, Ultratravel, published by The Daily Telegraph, is an acclaimed luxury travel publication that is referred to by industry peers and consumers for inspiring travel ideas and solutions.
Receiving this award at the Ultra Awards Gala Luncheon was Mr Robert Logan, General Manager, Raffles Hotel and the hotel's iconic Doorman, Mr Sarjit Singh.
