Philadelphia Holiday Inn Gets Renovation

. October 14, 2008

JUNE 4, 2008. Major renovations are occurring at 75% of Holiday Inns worldwide, none more significant than that of the Holiday Inn Philadelphia-Cherry Hill. The Holiday Inn Philadelphia-Cherry Hill is currently undergoing a 4.5 million dollar make over. It is the desire of the hotel to be one of the first in it's region to unveil the new brand signage that is taking the hotel industry by storm.

The very first impression, incorporating the porte-cochere, the main entrance and the lobby, will all have a totally new look, sound and smell. The sound and smell elements come from the pre-selected music and "scent screens" developed by IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group), to create the "Holiday Inn Experience." The contemporary styled renovation has already been completed in the Empress Garden Ballroom and the satellite Conference rooms through out the hotel. Other facilities included in the renovation are the Exercise Room, indoor and outdoor pools. All 186 guest rooms will experience a complete makeover, from bathrooms to furniture. Both elevators will be replaced, to the tune of $500,000.

In conjunction with the management of the Holiday Inn Philadelphia-Cherry Hill, Growth Properties Hospitality Management also operates the on-site franchised restaurant, Red Hot & Blue Memphis Pit Barbeque Restaurant. Red Hot & Blue is known in Southern New Jersey for award-winning ribs and live blues. This community staple is also undergoing a facelift.

To continue with the standards that the renovations will produce, both managers and staff will complete a whole new training program. The training program, "Stay Real," developed by IHG will raise customer service levels and guest satisfaction.

After the Holiday Inn Philadelphia-Cherry Hill transformation, it will be the most newly renovated hotel, in an area that is continually flourishing. Within the past couple of years, Cherry Hill, NJ has brought in a vast amount of new retail business, with an outlook for continued expansion in the next five years. With such area vitality, Holiday Inn Philadelphia-Cherry Hill's current renovation is setting the bar for the local hospitality industry. Total renovation completion is slated for end of year, 2008.
